The semester kicks off to a wonderful start with a surprise holiday. Martin Luther King's Birthday. I think we should celebrate Lee Kwan Yew's Birthday back home too. After all he was the father of our nation. Grandfather now his son is running it.
Woke up this morning to an alarm clock reading 4a.m... Tossed and turned till 4:30am and decided it was time to do something productive. So begrudgingly I grabbed my statistics book and went up to the 'attic' to study, only to remember that my book was one edition old and I had to check if the questions in it were right before starting on my homework. Not wanting to waste the morning, I studied instead for an hour before heading off to the gym at 6am. (for those of you who think I failed preschool math, the other hour was spent trying to search for supplements to the older edition (to no avail of course))
And then it was a happy hour of basketball and masochism. I keep wondering why I ever enjoyed running and lifting weights. At 9 i went back to sleep and at 10:45 trooped off to my only class of the day. Math 211: differential equations.
OH... last night I watched memoirs of a geisha. And it was incredible.. I remember reading the book a long time ago and finding it boring, but the show was... one of the best shows i've ever watched. Of course the legendary Gong Li, Michelle Yeo, and up and coming Zhang Ziyi (ok she's kinda made it already) played a big part. It's like the 3 biggest Chinese stars of our time. Ok time for abit of homework~
